New Hosting Server

eThree Media announces the completion of transfer to our new web hosting server.

The move to a new server was prompted by a forecast of continued growth in our web hosting business in Savannah, Hilton Head and external markets over the next several years.  The new server is a SuperMicro PDSMU Intel Xeon QuadCore running each processor at 2.4 GHz.  It boasts faster performance and double the capacity of our former machine, due to greater expandability.

Although previous performance was very good at the SoftLayer Dallas datacenter, we elected to relocate this new server to their new Washington, DC datacenter - a private N+1 facility with nearly identical characteristics in terms of security, cooling and network access.  The large majority of eThree Media web hosting customers are based in the Eastern Standard time zone, which will mean faster data transfers in both directions for most users.
